About Our Course
Our Entry-Level Instrument Fitter Course is a comprehensive 16-week training program consisting of 7 hours of instruction each week.
This course will start August 7,2026 every Wednesday and Friday 6:00pm-9:00pm.
The course is designed for individuals with little or no previous experience who are interested in starting a career in the instrumentation and industrial construction industries.
Students receive a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practical training in a shop environment that simulates real jobsite conditions. The curriculum focuses on developing the essential skills required of an entry-level instrument fitter while emphasizing safety, quality workmanship, and industry best practices.Ā
Course topics:
- Industrial safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard awareness.
- Identification and proper use of common hand tools, power tools, and specialty instrumentation tools.
- Reading and interpreting basic piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs), Installation Detail drawings, and construction specifications.
- Measuring, cutting, bending, and installing stainless steel and copper tubing.
- Installation of tubing systems, fittings, valves, supports, and instrument components.
- Proper tube bending techniques using manual and mechanical tube benders.
- Compression fitting installation, inspection, and leak prevention.
- Basic blueprint reading and material identification.
- Instrument mounting, tubing layout, and routing techniques.
- Quality control procedures and attention to detail required in industrial environments.
- Professional workplace expectations, communication skills, teamwork, and jobsite ethics.

Upon successful completion of the course, graduates will possess the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment as an Instrument Fitter or Instrumentation Helper. When the student successfully completes the course, they will receive your performance and knowledge certification.
